Premier Health to Construct Free-standing Emergency Center in Mason
MIDDLETOWN, OHIO (May 28, 2014) —Premier Health announced today that it will construct a free-standing, 12-bed, 16,000-square-foot emergency center in Mason. The 24-hour emergency center will be part of the two-floor, 44,000 square foot Atrium Health Center – Mason. In addition to the emergency center, the new facility will feature an array of ancillary services including lab testing, X-ray, CT, ultrasound, and MRI, as well as physician offices in the areas of family medicine, cardiology, orthopedics, obstetrics, gynecology and more. Atrium Health Center – Mason will also include a medical spa with an on-site esthetician. The $11.5 million renovation project is expected to open in December 2014, at an existing site at 7450 Mason-Montgomery Road. Premier Health estimates that Atrium Health Center – Mason will generate approximately 40 jobs in the first two years.
According to Carol J. Turner, president and CEO of Atrium Medical Center in Middletown, the proposed facility will offer greater access to the community. “The free-standing emergency center in Mason will serve dual purposes: to provide expanded, comprehensive services to our patients, and to foster Premier Health’s mission to build healthier communities. It’s an initiative that will allow us to further partner with the Mason community, and to introduce Premier Health’s considerable expertise in the emergency care arena to the I-71 corridor. ”
The new Atrium Health Center – Mason will complement Premier Health services already in the Mason area. Other services in the community include additional primary care physician offices, lab, and imaging services, along with occupational medicine and physical therapy.
Renovations on the existing building are scheduled to begin in June.
