Chemotherapy and Infusion Therapy
Chemotherapy is one of the most powerful tools we have to fight cancer. Chemotherapy drugs, given by mouth or injection, attack cancer cells directly.
You may have just one chemotherapy drug or a combination of different chemotherapies. Because the medicines travel through the blood stream to the entire body, chemotherapy is considered a body-wide (systemic) treatment.
Infusion (IV) therapy is the process of providing you with fluid, blood or blood product, a drug, nutritional product or targeted therapies directly into the bloodstream. Proper administration of IV drug therapy is provided by our trained nursing staff.
When providing infusion therapy services, our pharmacists work closely with physicians, nurses and dietitians to monitor conditions and adjust treatments.
Our comprehensive Infusion Therapy services include:
- Blood product transfusions
- Iron transfusions
- Intravenous hydration
- Antibiotic treatment infusions
