The Compton Center
Our cancer center is conveniently located in The Compton Center building, with its own private entrance and registration. Radiation Oncology, and Infusion Therapy and Chemotherapy, are just one floor apart, an added convenience for patients whose treatment plan calls for both.
Our cancer care team offers current cancer treatments, leading-edge therapies and comprehensive support to patients and their families. We provide coordinated services, information and resources, as well as practical ways to help patients remain energetic during treatment.
Our goal is to help patients continue to live life fully. We provide care and services that make treatment as positive as possible, while causing the least amount of disorder to their daily lives.
A Personal, Inviting Friendly Setting
Radiation Oncology offers a warm, inviting atmosphere that helps make you comfortable while undergoing treatments. Infusion therapy is delivered in an open, solarium-style infusion area, featuring clusters of cozy recliners and flat-screen TVs.
You can receive the latest treatments while napping in private or talking with others. Chairs positioned near large windows let in plenty of sunlight, allowing patients to enjoy the day while getting their infusions.
If you would prefer, we also offer private treatment rooms. Each private treatment room is equipped with a bed, recliner and television for you and your loved ones.
Our location, next to Atrium Medical Center, is ideal for anyone needing additional hospital services or immediate medical support. View map.
Team Approach to Cancer Care
Other Atrium professionals may play a part in your care at The Compton Center. Registered dieticians are available to explain specific diets to help manage treatment side effects and restore energy.
Our Rehabilitation team works with you to help regain strength and energy during or after treatment. Social workers are also on site to provide counseling and support about personal, financial and family issues and/or help with other placement, if needed.
Honoring Marjorie A. Compton
The Compton Center is named in memory of Marjorie A. Compton, a longtime friend of the Atrium Medical Center Foundation, the hospital’s fundraising affiliate.
A former secretary and receptionist at Armco Steel Co., Compton generously volunteered her time and service to Atrium Medical Center (formerly Middletown Regional Hospital) and its patients, completing nearly 4,200 hours of volunteer service over 20 years.
Diagnosed with cancer in 2002, she could no longer continue her volunteer work, but her support of the hospital did not end. Shortly before her death, Compton gifted 80 acres of her family’s Monroe farmland to the Atrium Medical Center Foundation. Her contribution remains the Foundation’s single largest gift to date.
