Some newborns need more specialized care. Our Level II Special Care Nursery delivers the care these babies need to help them thrive.
Level II Special Care Nursery
Atrium's Family Birth Center’s Level II Special Care Nursery cares for newborns that need more specialized care. Physicians and nurses are experienced in treatments to address high-risk conditions such as prematurity, infection and respiratory distress. All physicians and nurses in the Family Birth Center are certified by the American Academy of Pediatrics' Neonatal Resuscitation Program.
Full-time neonatologists from The Children's Medical Center of Dayton are available to respond to the needs of seriously-ill newborns. Infants can be quickly transported to one of Ohio’s most experienced Level IIIB neonatal intensive care units if needed.
Special Care for Special Deliveries

Our special nursery gives expectant parents an extra level of assurance. The Level II Nursery is always open. Parents may visit their baby anytime, day or night.
