The Pastoral Care Department at Atrium Medical Center provides spiritual support, counseling, and care to Atrium patients and their loved ones.
Pastoral Care staff is available to help with everything from preparing Living Wills to providing counseling for those who are emotionally distressed or coping with a loss. Our HEAL Program (Help Endure A Loss) was created to help families deal with the loss of a child.
When patients are admitted to Atrium and request a pastoral visit, our chaplains contact them for an initial visit, and then follow up afterward. Chaplains provide supportive counseling and care to patients, families, and staff who are emotionally distressed, struggling with religious/spiritual/ethical issues, or who request a specific religious rite or ritual.
