Patient Room Amenities
Atrium Medical Center (Atrium) patient room amenities are designed to make your hospital stay as comfortable as possible.
Oversized Private Rooms
All Atrium patient rooms are private, with wireless Internet access, upholstered furniture, and an in-room sleeper-sofa for family members who may stay overnight. Except in critical care areas, each patient room features a private bath with shower to serve you and overnight guests.
Bedside Controls
Your bed is equipped with a convenient control handset. Unless your nurse instructs you to leave your bed in a certain position for medical reasons, you can raise or lower parts of it simply by pushing a button. Typically, we’ll keep your bed in the “low” position for your safety. We may raise the rails when you’re sleeping or when you have been given medications that make you drowsy.
Nurse Call Button
Your nurse call button is on your television remote control. To call your nurse, just push the button. A member of the nursing staff will respond as promptly as possible.
During the Night
Please stay in bed after you have been prepared for the night. For assistance during the night, just use your nurse call button.
Telephone
The telephone by your bedside is for your private use. To make a local call, dial 9 and the number you wish to reach. To make a long-distance call, please dial 9-044 and an operator will assist you with either a credit card or calling card call. You can also make collect calls.
Cell Phone Use
Cellular telephones (cell phones) and other wireless devices may be used by patients and visitors in all areas at Atrium in conjunction with Atrium’s wireless device policy.
Television
A high-definition, flat-screen television with satellite service delivers a wide variety of family-friendly programming, including free movies. You can also learn about your condition or treatment on your in-room television with on-demand patient education programs.
Room Temperature
All rooms are centrally heated and air-conditioned. If your room temperature is uncomfortable, please notify your nurse.
Cleaning
Your room was professionally cleaned and inspected before your admission, and it will be cleaned daily by a member of the housekeeping staff. Bed linen is changed on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. If any additional services are needed, please contact your nurse.
WiFi
All Atrium patient rooms offer wireless Internet access (WiFi) from your laptop or other electronic device. WiFi access is also available in the hospital waiting areas for visitors’ use. Wireless devices may be used by patients and visitors in all areas at Atrium in conjunction with Atrium wireless device policy.
Meals and Room Service
Depending on medical and dietary restrictions, meal selection will be managed one of two ways. For some patients, a pre-selected meal based on their preferences and physician’s guidelines will be delivered to their rooms during standard meal times. However, most patients will order their meals each day using the Room Service menu.
Guest Trays
You can order guest trays from the Room Service menu for your visitors. Breakfast guest trays are $7 each; lunch and dinner trays are $9 each. Payment in cash will be collected when your meal is served. Guest meals are limited to two (2) per room per meal period.
