Meals

Atrium Medical Center (Atrium) meals and room service provide wholesome, nourishing, and well-balanced meals, which are an important part of your treatment and recovery. The dietary staff at Atrium plans meals you’ll enjoy that are nutritious and prepared according to your physician’s orders. Meals are served during the following hours:

Breakfast 7:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
Lunch 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Dinner 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Menu options

Depending on your medical and dietary restrictions, meal selection will be managed one of two ways. For some patients, a pre-selected meal based on preferences and physician’s guidelines will be delivered to their rooms during standard meal times. However, most patients will order meals each day from the Room Service menu.

Room Service Meal Selection

The Room Service menu is designed for patients on regular, controlled carbohydrate, and cardiac style diets. Patients using Room Service must have the ability and desire to select their meals.

Each day a Nutrition Service Associate will deliver a menu to your room. After reviewing the meal options, you’ll dial 3663 (FOOD) to reach the Room Service Call Center Operators. Calls will be answered from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Orders will be taken for:

Breakfast from 7a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
Lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Dinner from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

All food is prepared to order. Room Service Associates will deliver your meal tray within 45 minutes of placing your order.

Room Service Appropriateness

Some treatments and stays require very structured delivery times of meals, so each patient’s room service meal selection will be assessed by the medical staff. Patients unable to place an order may have a computer pre-selected diet. Family members and nursing staff may also assist a patient with meal selection when needed. Patients who speak a language other than English or who have other special needs will have the opportunity to use room service through the hospital’s interpreter service.

Dietary Restrictions

Room Service operators will advise patients who choose a menu item that is not compliant with the diet their physician ordered for them. They’ll offer alternatives that meet their physician’s guidelines.

Computer Selected Menu

This menu type is for patients who have more restrictive diets or the inability to make menu selections. The patient’s diet history and nutrition screening or assessment will help the staff to determine if this menu option is appropriate.

Guest Trays

You may order guest trays from the Room Service menu for your visitors. Guest meals are limited to two (2) per room per meal period. Payment in cash will be collected when the meal is served:

Breakfast guest tray $7 each
Lunch/dinner guest tray $9 each
