Patient Education

During your stay at Atrium Medical Center (Atrium), we will offer you opportunities to learn as much as possible about how to take care of yourself at home and what services you can take advantage of in the community. We’ll provide you with printed materials to help you better understand your condition, treatment, medications, and follow-up care when you leave the hospital. You can also learn about your condition or treatment on the television in your hospital room with on-demand patient education programs.

If you want information about a topic, feel free to ask your nurse. Once your physician has signed orders for you to leave the hospital, a nurse will review your medical instructions with you and your family and answer any questions you may have. Spending time reviewing going-home instructions is an important way to make sure you are taken care of after your hospital stay.
