Special Needs
Atrium Medical Center (Atrium) is committed to meeting the special needs you may have. We have a variety of resources available, like specially equipped phones for the hearing impaired and interpreters for non English-speaking patients. In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Centers for Disease Control, we also welcome service animals (except in areas where special precautions, such as gowns, gloves, or masks are required).
If you have questions about our policies, or if you have a special need, please speak with a member of our nursing staff, or a social worker. We'll be happy to answer your questions and assist with your requests.
Language Services
As part of our mission to serve and help all people, we make every effort to provide language services and communications resources for people who do not speak English and people who have hearing or visual impairments. As part of this effort, we have a part time interpreter on staff, plus we can arrange interpreting services from a professional agency. Interpreters may be scheduled for on-site visits or via telephone or internet to serve our patients or guests.
Spanish Interpretation Services
We offer special services for Spanish-speaking people, including a special phone line.
Call (513) 705-4528, or toll-free at (888) 255-0018, to select the Spanish line to schedule appointments, ask questions, or address concerns in Spanish.
Other Language Services
While our Language Services staff have skills in Spanish interpretation, we also coordinate services for other languages, including sign language, with professional agency interpreters. Internet and phone interpreters are available at all times and provide service in 150 languages. For more information on interpreter services at Atrium, please contact Care Management at (513) 420-5259.
TDD Equipment and Sign Language Interpreters
TDD equipment and sign language interpreters can be arranged for hearing impaired patients. For more information, contact Care Management at (513) 420-5259.
Service Animals
When a disabled patient, guest, employee, or medical staff member is accompanied by a service animal, the animal will be granted access to all areas of our facility except for those areas where an individual must take special precautions to enter, such as when wearing a mask, gown, or gloves.
