Middletown Regional Hospital Earns 14th Straight Ohio Hospital Association Safety Award
Middletown Regional Hospital (MRH) is among 23 hospitals recently recognized by the Ohio Hospital Association (OHA) Statewide Hospital Safety Campaign for having the most successful safety programs and superior employee safety records among 99 participating hospitals.
MRH is one of 10 hospitals earning a Top Twenty Percent Award for ranking in the top 20 percent overall. This marks the 14th straight year MRH has earned an OHA safety award, according to John McKinney, MRH's director of facilities management services and corporate safety officer.
"This award is only possible because safety is part of the MRH culture," says McKinney. "The high priority placed on employee and workplace safety throughout MRH carries over into patient and visitor safety. As a result, our patients and visitors are the true winners of this award," McKinney explains. "They're provided top-quality care in one of the safest healthcare organizations in Ohio."
The Statewide Hospital Safety Campaign was created in 1953 by OHA and the Industrial Commission of Ohio to promote workplace safety. To participate, hospitals submitted information on workplace safety based on the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration regulations.
