Mid-Miami Healthcare Foundation Welcomes New Major Gifts Officer
Mid-Miami Healthcare Foundation (MMHF), the fundraising affiliate of Middletown Regional Health System, is pleased to announce the appointment of Michael D. Stautberg as director of major gifts.
Stautberg's initial responsibilities will include seeking out and cultivating relationships with individuals willing to enhance care at Middletown Regional Hospital (MRH) by making major gifts to the Foundation's Advancing Care for a Healthier Community capital campaign. The $4 million campaign is now underway to fund the creation of a comprehensive heart hospital at the new MRH, which is slated to open in early 2008. Stautberg is also charged with responsibilities in the areas of planned giving, estate planning and endowment building.
Stautberg comes to MMHF from Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Ashland, Kentucky, where he served as vice president of foundation and advocacy. Under his leadership the hospital successfully completed a $2.5 million capital campaign, established a permanent endowment building program for the hospital and significantly increased permanent endowments for the health system.
"Mike's successful background in healthcare and his passion for cultivating relationships with people from all walks of life will be a strong asset to our Foundation," said Linda C. Baxter, executive director of Mid-Miami Healthcare Foundation. "By building strong relationships with our donors, the Foundation becomes better equipped to faithfully execute our donors' wishes as we work to help MRH remain a leading community healthcare provider for the 21st century."
Originally from Hamilton County, Stautberg holds a bachelor's degree in communications from the University of Cincinnati. Before joining Our Lady of Bellefonte, he served as director of development and long-term care for the Franciscan Health System of the Ohio Valley and as director of development and marketing for The Franciscan at St. Clare.
A member of the National Committee on Planned Giving and of the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy, he recently completed a term as president and chairman of the board for Leadership Tri-State. He also has held key leadership positions in the Ironton Area Kiwanis, the Ashland Lions, Big Brothers/Big Sisters of the Tri-State, the Foundation for the Tri-State Community, and Sarah's Place, a women's resource center.
As the fundraising arm of Middletown Regional Health System, Mid-Miami Healthcare Foundation exists to promote a safer, healthier community through the development of charitable gifts and resources designated to help residents achieve and maintain the highest possible health status. The Foundation's past campaigns have raised more than $1.5 million to provide needed medical services in areas such as women's health, trauma, heart care, diabetes, kidney failure/dialysis and pediatrics. The current capital campaign, Advancing Care for a Healthier Community, will help bring the full range of heart care options—including interventional procedures, such as stents, cardiac surgery and heart valve replacement—to the new Middletown Regional Hospital.
