The Diabetes Wellness Center of Atrium Medical Center team offers over two decades of expertise, confidence, and caring.
The program manager of the Diabetes Wellness Center of Atrium Medical Center is responsible for overseeing the diabetes programs and quality assurance. The manager develops and implements policies and procedures that guide and support the Center. The manager supervises and evaluates the Center’s staff. In addition, she develops, executes, and evaluates health promotion and diabetes education activities.
The diabetes nurse educator's responsibilities at the Diabetes Wellness Center include performing outpatient assessments, providing comprehensive diabetes self-management training one-on-one and in a group setting She is also responsible for developing, implementing, and revising the diabetes self-management curriculum and the educational materials. She also conducts in-service education for health care professionals and the community. She serves as the diabetes nutrition expert for the facility.
The Office Coordinator of the Diabetes Wellness Center is the first voice for patients and the Center’s face in the community. She coordinates patient scheduling, educates patients about their appointment options, assists with insurance coverage, and works directly with physicians’ offices.
