About the Diabetes Wellness Center
The Diabetes Wellness Center of Atrium Medical Center offers a comprehensive diabetes program to help patients learn new skills and lifestyle modifications. Our care philosophy is founded on a multi-disciplinary, patient-focused approach. The center is designed to provide self-management training and programs tailored to meet each patient’s unique needs.
Patients diagnosed with diabetes typically have numerous questions and concerns. Our diabetes educators and staff help ease their fears. Working closely with patients and family members, we provide quality information, psychological support, and compassionate care.
We provide education and services for patients with:
- Type 1 diabetes
- Type 2 diabetes
- Gestational diabetes
- Polycystic ovarian syndrome
- Insulin resistance
Dedicated Diabetes Team
Using a multi-disciplinary approach, our team of dedicated professionals provides patients with quality diabetes care. From the first appointment through ongoing diabetes support, patients feel and see the commitment of our team members. The Diabetes Wellness Center of Atrium Medical Center team includes:
- A full-time program manager
- A Registered Nurse and Registered Dietitian
- An office coordinator
Our Center offers free outreach seminars such as topic-focused classes, health fairs, and health screenings to inform and educate the community about diabetes risk factors, complications, and self-management. These services are made possible by the generous donations to the Atrium Medical Center Foundation’s Diabetes Community Outreach Program.
