Ralph Talkers, MD, Emergency Center Department Medical Director
Ralph Talkers, MD, is the Medical Director of the Atrium's Emergency Department. Dr. Talkers received his Medical degree from the Ohio State University. He interned at Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton and completed his residency in Emergency Medicine at Wright State University.
Dr. Talkers is certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine. He completed the Occupational Medicine training course at the University of Cincinnati and is also certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS).
Marquita Turner, RN, BSN, CEN, MBA, Director of Emergency Services
Marquita Turner oversees all aspects of Atrium’s Emergency Trauma Center, including the general strategy of operations – patient flow and satisfaction, quality and safety. She began working at Atrium Medical Center in 2005.
Marquita earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Miami University and her Master Degree in Business Administration from Indian Wesleyan. She holds a national certification in emergency nursing.
Michael G. Jett, RN, BSN, EMT-P, EMS Coordinator
Mike Jett works closely with local EMS to provide continuing education and quality assurance. He has been with Atrium since July, 1999. He started as a staff nurse in the ICU, then in the Emergency Department. Mike took on the role of EMS Coordinator in September, 2002.
Mike became a paramedic in 1992 after attending D. Russell Lee Career Center. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Miami University in 1995. He received his professional firefighter’s certificate from the Ohio Fire Academy in 1996.
Level III Trauma Program
Daniel Butler, MD, Trauma Program Medical Director
Daniel Butler, MD, is the Trauma Program Medical Director and oversees the Trauma Department at Atrium. Currently a general and trauma surgeon, Dr. Butler received his medical degree from the University of Indiana School of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center.
Dr. Butler is a Colonel in the United States army, having served two tours of duty in Iraq. He oversaw the Forward Surgical Team and served as a Combat Surgeon in Iraq in 2004 and most recently in 2010. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and certified by the American Board of Surgery. He is also an Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) Course Director and an active participant in EMS continuing education.
Jennifer Brown, BSN, RN, Trauma Program Manager
Jennifer Brown is responsible for the daily operations, as well as the long term vision of Atrium's Level III Emergency Trauma Center.
Jennifer has been with Premier Health since 2001 and joined Atrium in 2012. Her responsibilities include monitoring the care of all trauma patients from arrival to discharge, facilitating education and training of trauma care to nurses and physicians, instituting and tracking performance improvement processes and teaching injury prevention in the community. Jennifer regularly meets with regional and national trauma program managers to collaborate on ways to improve trauma patient care.
Jennifer is certified in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). She is an Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) Course Coordinator and a Course Director for Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC).
Joey Brumfield, RN, Trauma Outreach Coordinator
Joey Brumfield is responsible for EMS and community based outreach projects including trauma education, community awareness and Injury prevention. He is the coordinator of Atrium’s Warren County Safe Communities Coalition (WCSCC), a community based traffic safety coalition.
Joey graduated from Miami University in May, 2008 and has been with Atrium’s Emergency Department since 2009.
