Sports and Recreation
Southwest Ohio is a dream come true for sports lovers, since it is home to the Cincinnati Reds, the Cincinnati Bengals, and championship tennis and golf.
Speaking of golf, our four-county region boasts some of the top-rated courses in Ohio. And according to Golf Digest, you’ll find one of America’s 100 Greatest Golf Courses practically in your own back yard! You’ll find 100 more nine- and 18-hole golf courses in the area, 60 of which are public courses.
Dayton also has its share of sports teams. While they don’t have the high profile of national teams like the Reds and Bengals, the Dayton Flyers basketball team in particular has a loyal following of dedicated fans. Dayton teams know it doesn’t take a major league stadium to get fans into a frenzy!
For family fun, there’s Paramount’s Kings Island, the Cincinnati Zoo, the Newport Aquarium, a dozen state parks, and an 80-mile bike trail that parallels the scenic Little Miami River. And when it comes to shopping, we’ve got everything from “uptown” to “outlet”—not to mention some of the country’s best towns for antiquing.
You’ll find all this and more within 30 minutes of home in southwest Ohio. And since you won’t waste half your day getting to and from work, you’ll be able to enjoy it with time to spare!
