Jesse Thornton, BCC
Jesse Thornton is the Director of Pastoral Services at Atrium. He is responsible for administering activities designed to meet the religious and spiritual care needs of the patients, families, and employees. He has been with Atrium since July 2005.
Rickey Brown, M.Div
Rickey Brown is Staff Chaplain at Atrium. He provides pastoral care to patients, their families, and staff during crisis issues and conflict resolutions, and he serves as an advisor for bio-ethics committee members. Additional responsibilities include conducting ecumenical services for worship, administering sacraments to patients, providing emotional support, attending to the spiritual needs of those who desire religious directions, and assessing patients’ spiritual growth by performing spiritual screenings/assessments.
As a caregiver, Reverend Brown assists patients in finding meaning and hope amid their complex circumstances. He addresses the spiritual needs of hospice patients and their families and participates as an intricate member of the interdisciplinary team. This team collaborates with medical and non-medical personnel through follow-up and written consultations. Assigned areas include Intensive Care Units, Cardiac Care, Tertiary, Psychiatry Unit, Bariatrics, Maternity, stats and trauma codes, and the Emergency Room.
