Leukemia is a malignant disease (cancer) of the bone marrow and blood. It is characterized by the uncontrolled increase of blood cells. Leukemia is divided into four categories:
- Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia
- Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia
- Acute Myelogenous Leukemia
- Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia
Treatment Options
The most common treatments used to fight leukemia include chemotherapy, radiation therapy, biologic therapy, bone marrow transplant, and stem cell transplant.
