Atrium Medical Center Accepting Applications for Adult Volunteers
Middletown, Ohio, April 9, 2009 – Applications are being accepted for adult volunteers to help in many areas at Atrium Medical Center. Volunteers are needed to help staff by filling water pitchers, getting blankets for patients and stocking supplies on nursing units; to help Nutrition Services with delivering breakfast and lunch to patients; and to be greeters in the main lobby and the Professional Building, which may include helping patients in wheelchairs. Volunteers are also needed to help families and staff in the afternoons and evenings in the Family Birth Center.
Most adult volunteers serve three or four hours one day per week. To volunteer, adults must complete an application, interview and participate in a general orientation along with new hospital employees. They are then trained for their specific assignment by an experienced volunteer or by department staff. Benefits for adult volunteers include free parking and a complimentary meal on the days they volunteer, discounts at Atrium Medical Center Pharmacy and complimentary flu shots in the fall.
“Our goal is for all volunteers to find a position that suits their skills and interests, as well as their schedules,” explains Priscilla Lane, manager of Volunteer Services.
Volunteer application packets are available online at AtriumMedCenter.org. Or those interested may visit the Volunteer Services Department at Atrium or call (513) 420-5201.
