The Rehabilitation Center at Atrium Hosts a Free Screening for People with Upper or Lower Extremity Paralysis
Middletown, Ohio, Wednesday, November 04, 2009 – The Rehabilitation Center at Atrium Medical Center will host a free screening to determine if you may benefit from the NESS L300™ Foot Drop System or the NESS H200® Hand Rehabilitation System. These breakthrough devices use wireless technology to produce movements that help people lead more active lives. This free event will take place Tuesday, November 17, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., in the Rehabilitation Center at Atrium. To see if you may be a candidate for the screening, call the Rehabilitation Center at (513) 420-5193.
For people with upper or lower extremity paralysis, even the simplest tasks can be challenging. The NESS L300 and the NESS H200 provide sophisticated, yet user-friendly therapy to people with such paralysis as a result of stroke, traumatic brain injury, multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy or incomplete spinal cord injury. The systems use small, electrical signals to activate muscles.
“We can maximize rehabilitation by using these devices between therapy sessions,” says Ingrid Waggoner, RN, CRRN, BSN, program manager for Rehabilitation Services. “We’re excited about having this technology in our acute and outpatient rehab programs.” For more information, contact the Rehabilitation Center at (513) 420-5193.
