Middletown, Ohio, Wednesday, January 20, 2010 – Atrium Sports Medicine & Physical Therapy in Lebanon will provide foot and ankle assessments at “Heart & Sole”, a community event designed to help you take the first step toward a healthy heart. This free event will take place Monday, February 8, from 5 to 8 p.m. in the lower level of the Ralph J. Stolle Countryside YMCA, 1697 Deerfield Road in Lebanon.
“Taking 10,000 steps per day can help reduce your risk of heart disease, and maintaining flexibility can help you stay on the path to a healthy heart,” says Lisa Duncan, physical therapist at Atrium Sports Medicine & Physical Therapy in Lebanon. The foot and ankle assessments will include analysis of your walking and running gait, examination of your foot alignment, evaluation of your foot and ankle flexibility, instruction and demonstration of stretches, and walking and running shoe recommendations. Product demonstrations will be provided by local vendors.
Heart health screenings will also be available, including blood glucose and cholesterol for $5 and blood pressure. Door prizes and free gifts will be given while supplies last. This event is free and open to the public. For more information, call Julie Hensley, PTA, at (513) 934-3850.
