Atrium Medical Center Creates New Chief Medical Officer Position

Middletown, Ohio, May 24, 2010 – Atrium Medical Center named Mark Williams, MD, to the newly created position of chief medical officer (CMO). Dr. Williams, a member of the Atrium medical staff since 1995, began serving in the CMO role on May 10.

As Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Williams will be responsible for hospital quality, patient safety and customer satisfaction, among other duties. He will act as a liaison between the medical staff and hospital administration. As such, he will work closely with the Medical Staff President and Medical Executive Committee.

McNeill, president and CEO of Atrium Medical Center. “He’s proven to be an extremely knowledgeable practitioner who is dedicated to providing the highest quality clinical performance and patient satisfaction. Dr. Williams is a Family Physician who previously practiced at Summit Family Physicians in Middletown and, most recently, PriMed Physicians, Inc. in Kettering. During his time on Atrium’s medical staff, Dr. Williams served as Chairman of the Department of Medicine for three years, was a founding member of the Nurse/Physician Council and was Chairman of the Quality Improvement Council for three years.

Dr. Williams is board certified in family medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine. He earned his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati and completed his family practice residency at Miami Valley Hospital, where he also served as Chief Resident.

Dr. Williams, his wife and three children live in Miamisburg.
