Atrium Medical Center Hosts 14th Annual HEAL Walk to Remember
Middletown, Ohio, September 25, 2012 – Atrium Medical Center’s Help Endure a Loss (HEAL) Program will host its 14th Annual Walk to Remember at 2:00 pm. on Sunday, October 7. The event will take place at the HEAL Memory Garden on the Atrium Medical Center campus. Anyone who has been touched by the death of a child, regardless of age or circumstance, is invited to attend.
The HEAL Memory Garden, located along the walking trail on the east side of the hospital, is a quiet place where families can go to remember and celebrate the lives of children who left us far too soon. It features the Angel of Hope monument, a nationally recognized symbol of hope and healing. The first Walk to Remember was held in September 1986 and now continues in communities throughout the United States.
Guests are asked to enter at the North Entrance of Atrium Medical Center’s campus and park at Greentree Health Science Academy. At 1:30 pm, registration and mementos for the Walk will be available at the welcome station on the Academy grounds. The ¼ mile walk to the HEAL Memory Garden will begin promptly at 2 p.m. Upon arrival at the HEAL Garden, a memorial “reading of their names” will take place followed by a ceremonial balloon release.
