Atrium Medical Center and City Partner on Health & Family Fun Day

MIDDLETOWN, OHIO, September 9, 2013 – Atrium Medical Center and the City of Middletown are hosting the Health & Family Fun Day on Saturday, September 21, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will take place in downtown Middletown and will cover two city blocks from the City Building at One Donham Plaza to Central Avenue.

This FREE community festival offers a fun-filled way to learn about your health, your wellness and your community. The Health & Family Fun Day offers something for the entire family, from health screenings and information to safety demonstrations, car seat safety checks, and a community expo. The event will also have plenty of fun and games for children and adults.

Free health screenings that will be offered include: blood pressure, cholesterol and glucose (no fasting required), body mass index, hemoglobin A1C for diagnosed diabetics, facial skin cancer check, lung and stroke assessments, osteoporosis heel scan and even a dental screening.

The Health & Family Fun Day will offer many opportunities to get to know your community. Whether you would like to see the inside of an ambulance, sit in a police car, tour the special response team vehicle, explore the Smokehouse, meet the canine unit, or watch the CareFlight helicopter land, Health & Family Fun Day will offer plenty to explore. The public is also invited to take advantage of free car seat safety checks and bike helmet fittings for children.

Area stores and restaurants are getting into the spirit with a special “Inside Out Sidewalk Sale” along Broad Street and Central Avenue. Several local restaurants will also offer food specials, and you can buy fresh produce and baked goods at Downtown Middletown Inc.’s farmer’s market.
