Atrium Medical Center to expand services in Liberty Twp.

MIDDLETOWN, Ohio (March 24, 2017) – To meet a need for more primary care providers in Liberty Twp., Premier Health Atrium Medical Center plans to build a new health center to expand services in the growing Butler County community.

The health system has purchased nearly three acres of land at 6615 Cincinnati Dayton Road, where plans are to build an approximately 12,000-square-foot facility housing a primary care practice, specialty physicians, and potentially other services.

The project is still in the planning stages. Next steps include selecting a developer to begin construction ahead of an anticipated 2018 opening.

“Expanding in a key community for the hospital’s service area helps Premier Health and Atrium Medical Center meet its mission to improve the health of the communities we serve, and meet a need for more health services in Liberty Twp. closer to where people live,” said Michael Uhl, president of Atrium Medical Center.

“Liberty Twp. is an important part of Premier Health’s strategy to evolve services to meet the changing health needs of the region,” Uhl said.

Once work is complete, Liberty Family Medicine, a primary care practice and part of the Premier Physician Network, will relocate to the Cincinnati Dayton Road site from existing leased space, also in the township. The new building will give Liberty Family Medicine room to expand and add more health care providers.

Additionally, plans call for the new facility to make room for other health services.

“Liberty Township is excited to be part of Premier Health Atrium Medical Center’s expansion plans. As the community continues to grow, so does the demand for more and expanded health care services. We’re so pleased that Premier Health is investing bricks and mortar into the community by building a new medical office in the Downtown Bethany area. We look forward to watching the Liberty Family Medicine practice expand and welcoming new service groups as they’re announced,” said Christine Matacic, president of the Liberty Twp. Board of Trustees.

Atrium Medical Center is celebrating in 2017 the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Middletown hospital. While the celebrations reflect on the hospital’s history, Atrium is also offering new services.

In December, Atrium started its new Natural Beginnings Birth Center, the first comprehensive natural birth center in the greater Cincinnati area to be located within an acute care hospital. In spring 2017, renovations will be completed to open a Senior Emergency Center to offer geriatric-friendly emergency care within the existing emergency department.

Atrium Medical Center is a full-service hospital and Level III Trauma Center located conveniently along the Interstate 75 corridor at exit 32, One Medical Center Drive in Middletown, between Cincinnati and Dayton. The hospital employs more than 1,500 people in full-time, part-time and on-call positions. Atrium is operated by the Dayton-based nonprofit Premier Health system.
