Screenings for Everyone

Premier Health offers a wide variety of cancer screening procedures. Below are recommended screenings for everyone.

Colon Cancer Screenings

Colon cancer almost always starts with a polyp. Testing saves lives by finding polyps before they become cancer. Removing pre-cancerous polyps helps prevent colon cancer.

Lung Cancer Screenings

Lung cancer is often associated with long-term tobacco use. If you are a smoker, ask your doctor to help you quit smoking. If you don’t smoke, don’t start.

You may also be at higher risk for lung cancer if you breathe secondhand smoke, have a family history of lung cancer or been exposed to certain environmental and workplace substances. Premier Health offers lung cancer screenings to people at high risk for the disease. This screening provides an opportunity to find lung cancer early, when it is most treatable.

Skin Cancer Screenings

Anyone who spends time in the sun can get skin cancer. People with fair skin, especially those with blonde or red hair, are more likely to get skin cancer than people with darker coloring. Those who have had a close family member with melanoma (the most dangerous type of skin cancer) and those who had severe sunburns before age 18 are more likely to get skin cancer.

Talk with your physician if you are interested in more information or think you should have a skin cancer screening.
