Cancer Survivorship

There are more than 10 million people in the U.S. today who are cancer survivors. Three out of every four American families will have at least one family member diagnosed with cancer.

Survivorship Care Plans

Cancer survivorship includes the physical, emotional and day-to-day issues of the cancer journey. Survivorship begins at the time of diagnosis and continues during and after treatment. When a patient has completed treatment, survivorship needs include follow-up health care, and getting help with any emotional and physical late effects of cancer or treatment.

A Survivorship Care Plan helps to ensure the best possible follow-up care and quality of life. This includes working with your doctor to plan and get recommendations for future cancer screening, prevention and healthy living choices. Learn more about survivorship issues.

Cancer Information Center

Atrium Medical Center’s Cancer Information Center, commonly known as the Registry, is a data system for collection, management and analysis of information on all cancer patients diagnosed and treated at our facility.

The Registry is maintained for both educational and research purposes, as well as for lifetime patient follow-up. It also serves as a reminder to patients and doctors to schedule regular examinations so any recurrence of the disease can be detected early.
