CT Scan

Atrium Medical Center’s Medical Imaging Services provides comprehensive digital medical imaging, while backed by skilled staff and advanced technology. Our team of specialists provides compassionate and an exceptional patient care.

Computerized Tomography (CT) is a medical imaging procedure offered at our medical imaging centers. CT scans are performed on an inpatient or outpatient basis, while most are performed at our conveniently located outpatient facilities. CT imaging is useful because it shows several types of tissue and internal organs, such as lung, bones, soft tissue, and blood vessels.

For early detection, screening and evaluation, our sophisticated capabilities at multiple sites throughout the facilities of Atrium Medical Center allow patients to receive the highest quality of care. Due to the combination of our advanced technology and highly-skilled staff deliver comprehensive care for a positive and safe experience for our patients.

The most common CT scans consist of:

  • Cardiac – Scan of the chest that focuses on the heart
  • Abdomen/pelvis – Specialized computer-guided procedure performed to look at the anatomy of the abdomen and pelvis
  • Angiography – Specialized computer-guided procedure which is used to produce detailed pictures of blood vessels in key areas of the body including chest, abdomen, and pelvis.
  • Brain – A specialized computer-guided procedure performed to look at the anatomy of the brain
  • Chest – A specialized computer-guided procedure performed to look at the anatomy of the chest
  • Spine – A specialized computer-guided procedure performed to look at the specific areas of the spine, including cervical, thoracic, lumbar and sacral spine

These procedures provide valuable information for a variety of conditions and illnesses relating to cardiology, oncology, orthopedics, neurology, vascular, and emergency medicine.
