Level III Trauma Center

Atrium Medical Center’s Level III Trauma Center, the only one in Warren County, provides immediate assessment, resuscitation and care for seriously injured patients in southwest Ohio.

Trauma care begins at the scene of a serious injury when emergency medical services (EMS) notify Atrium Medical Center’s Level III Trauma Center that a trauma patient is on the way. When every moment matters, our trauma team assembles and meets the patient upon arrival at the Emergency Trauma Center to provide rapid assessment, resuscitation, initiation of appropriate treatment and ongoing care.

Patients are taken directly to one of our two dedicated trauma bays for treatment. In addition to providing medical treatment, our trauma surgeons, Emergency Department physicians, nurses, chaplains, and other support staff help patients and their families cope with traumatic events associated with their injury or condition. To assure every trauma patient receives the level of care and services they need, Atrium Medical Center’s Level III Trauma Center transfers patients to Miami Valley Hospital’s Level I Trauma Center when a patient’s injuries require the skills of surgical specialists and other more advanced care. CareFlight Air and Mobile Services transports patients to Miami Valley from Atrium as quickly as possible.
