Rehabilitation Services

The Rehabilitation Department at Atrium Medical Center provides personalized, intensive therapies to meet a patient’s recovery needs.

Atrium’s Rehabilitation Department provides comprehensive care to patients who have functional disabilities from an injury or illness that affects the muscular, nervous, or skeletal system.

Our goal is to help patients improve or regain skills that will aid in recovery and improve their quality of life.

Common conditions we treat include:

Treatment begins with a thorough evaluation and careful, individualized planning. We strive to help patients build confidence, achieve independence, and attain the highest level of desired functioning possible so they can return to their home, community, and work.

Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation Center

The Rehabilitation Center at Atrium provides comprehensive services for patients recovering from stroke, hip fracture, head injury, amputation, major multiple trauma, neuromuscular disorders, and other conditions that require an intensive nursing and therapy approach, overseen by a physician specializing in rehabilitation.

Rehabilitation focuses on improving the patient’s function and maximizing the potential for return to home, school, work, and the community. The type and goals of the treatment plan vary from patient to patient. A young person who has suffered a stroke may have a goal of playing golf again. An older person who has fractured a hip may want to learn to walk without help.

There are several types of therapies, including speech therapyoccupational therapy, physical therapy, and recreational therapy.

Outpatient Services

The Atrium Medical Center Rehabilitation Center offers a full array of outpatient services to meet most every rehabilitation need, providing the same type of personalized, intensive therapies often associated with our inpatient services. We design treatment plans tailored to each individual’s specific needs from short-term therapy to long-term rehabilitation. Whether the disability is simple or complex, our rehabilitation professionals specialize in rebuilding lives and renewing hope.
